Module 4 “Approved  Gear” badge by Vintage Guitar! ?

Musical, warm and vintage-sounding, users will find Steely Dan-adjacent sounds and while the Full Frequency Range mode yields a brighter, clearer sound, perky funk tones can be had in the vein of Nile Rodgers and Prince. Regardless of settings, the Module 4 delivers touch-sensitivity and responsiveness. Tone shaping? Boost? Sustain? Oh, yeah!

Vibe Machine V-3 earned “Approved  Gear” badge by Vintage Guitar! ?

DryBell Musical Electronic Laboratory’s original Vibe Machine was developed 11 years ago and received thunderous accolades.
When the company celebrated its 10th anniversary last year, it also unleashed the V-3, an updated photocell-based version that updated its EQ function. The pedal now modulates without changing EQ, making it sound roomier and with more depth. Enlisting a Marshall combo, Octafuzz and a Strat, the Vibe Machine V-3 poured out the psychedelia with big deepness and chewy thickness. The Vibrato adds girth as it throbs and pulsates, conjuring Trower, Hendrix and Gilmour. More importantly, it’s flexible and a warm musical experience.”

Vibe Machine V-3 review by Bonedo.de!

In the test, the DryBell Vibe Machine V-3 turned out to be a very authentic-sounding and well-tuned Uni-Vibe-style pedal. With the help of numerous additional options for the faction of sound tinkerers, the Croatian manufacturer exhausts the Uni-Vibe theme down to the last detail. But don’t worry: If you’re just looking for a really good-sounding Vibe pedal, you’ll probably be completely satisfied with the basic setup. Typical for a boutique pedal, the price is up there. In return, you get the really great package when it comes to vibe. Thumbs up!”

5 stars for The Engine! ♪♫♪

What bliss! The DryBell The Engine is a very balanced and dynamic “amp in a box” pedal. It offers a wide range of sounds from subtle distortion to Stevie Ray Vaughan, AC/DC, Blackmore and Malmsteen. With channel A you get an open Marshall style distortion while channel B acts as a versatile EQ/booster. Both channels can be used simultaneously and allow you to customize the sound. The basic character of the guitar and the amp is largely retained. I haven’t been able to find a bad sounding setting. In short: a great pedal!”

Module 4 & Unit67 review!

The DryBell Module 4 and the DryBell Unit67 are two successful sound refiners and both have what it takes to be “always-on pedals”. The Module 4 impresses above all with the, in a positive sense, sound-coloring vintage compression and with the tone and blend potentiometer it is also prepared for “more modern” applications. Particularly noteworthy here are the numerous switching options for bypass mode, low-end cut and the optional expander, which can minimize the slightly increased noise floor at higher preamp and tone settings. The Unit67 turns out to be an all-purpose weapon for any kind of tone shaping in front of the amp and scores above all as a transparent booster with enormous gain reserves. The active EQ section can also have a lasting effect on the sound and with the range potentiometer you also have an excellent-sounding treble booster on board. The quite simply designed compressor/limiter section is rather narrow with fixed settings for attack and release, but that doesn’t change the fact that you really don’t want to switch off the Unit67 anymore.”

DryBell’s Module 4 just feels like home!

I’ve owned and used a lot of compressor pedals over the years, starting with, of course, an original Orange Squeezer and then an early MXR Dynacomp, through to some of today’s sophisticated, parallel-path, optical designs, but DryBell’s Module 4 just feels like home. It’s what I have always wanted a compressor to be and seems to have the vocabulary of compressed guitar sounds as I want to hear them. From the same box, however, I can get most of the sounds I look for in many of my other compressor pedals, too. Strong character and great versatility are not often to be found in the same product, in my experience. The guitar effects market is a highly competitive one, flooded with both big-name, volume manufacturers and smaller boutique makers, but there is always a place for innovation and quality. The meticulous attention to detail and real-world usability across DryBell’s relatively small but growing range of designs marks them out a rising star in this market sector, in my view. I look forward to seeing what they do next, but this one is a keeper, for sure.”

Revisiting and expanding an vintage compression flavor, yields inspiring results!

An Orange Squeezer-inspired compressor is a distinctly different flavor of dynamic control. If simply imitated, that shade of compression might not be for everyone, but the Module 4’s expanded functionality stretches the boundaries of what a Squeezer can be in very cool ways. If you prefer primitive compressors with few controls (and what sane player doesn’t), you should not fear the Module 4’s extra dials. They are easy to use and offer real tone-crafting power. Better still they modify an engaging, often striking basic voice that can be practical and transformative in many musical situations. “

31/01/2023

Module 4 – one of 8 Best Compressor Pedals of 2023 ✨

The Module 4 adds some very, very clever engineering to make it absolutely a first-rate modern device. To start with, it has a blend knob for parallel compression which the original never had and it also employs attack and release adjustment knobs so you can finely tune in your precise preferences for when the compressor circuit grabs and lets go of your signal. This is a huge asset to have so that each player can dial it in based on their own individual instrument and playing style.”

22/01/2023

DryBell’s accurate recreation of the tiny orange box.

“The Module 4 is a compressor that covers more ground than almost any other compressor out there. And… for all the Orange Squeezer faithful’s, DryBell thought enough to include the EXACT parameters you’d need, directly on each knob. Just look for the dots around the controls, aim the 6 knobs and you’re in OS heaven.

16/01/2023

Module 4 – one of the most musical sounding compressor pedals I’ve ever come across! ?

The Module 4 is one of those great tools that can work as simply as you prefer or as deep as you decide to dig. I found running various sources into it, using the TONE, BLEND and PREAMP controls yielded the most enjoyable and quickest results. Most of the time, in sessions of any form… finding your tone quickly is the most valuable resource. The Module 4 works really well in that regard. I found once I found general OUTPUT, ATTACK & RELEASE settings, I could simply make small movements of the remaining controls to get what I needed. I will say the Module 4 has the most usable tone control circuit I’ve ever encountered on a compressor pedal. The PREAMP control also adds color, not just gain to your signal, so it’s very interactive with each input source. “

25/11/2022

There a lot more functionality than meats the eye in the Module 4! ?

Here’s the deal. Many manufacturers claim “pro audio” or “studio quality”. There is no doubt that DryBell fits the description. With the Module 4 you can dial in super warm and squishy compression or light, airy, and sparkly compression. This would be the engine to select for more of that “tone mojo” we often talk about. The nod to the Dan Armstrong legacy is there but then you have the Full Frequency mode which is quite neutral and transparent by default. There is something here for everyone. Again, everything about DryBell oozes quality.”

04/11/2022

Module 4 announced at Premier Guitar!⭐

The Module 4 can be transformed to a standard ‘Full Frequency’ range compressor by pushing the Orange button. Basically, the user gets two compression flavors and they are easily distinguishable. Orange brings a warm, vintage sound and feel while ‘Full Frequency range’ brings a more modern, brighter, clearer tone. The pedal is equipped with several colorful, and practical options, all packed into the new DryBell enclosure line.

This has fast become both the year of the Delay, and the Compressor – with so many great new options – and this is another top top candidate. You know with DryBell that you’re going to get pristine studio quality sounds – with those extra smart features. One of the best Uni‑Vibe clones on the market just got an update! ✨

In an era of do‑it‑all modulation effects, not everyone needs or wants the very specific palette of Uni‑Vibe tones. But when you do there may be no more convenient way of getting there than with a Vibe Machine V-3: the classic sound in a compact enclosure, with true bypass, remote control and almost infinite tweakability.  Choosing a Uni‑Vibe‑style pedal is a highly personal and subjective matter — but I’ve yet to hear one better than this.” Dave Lockwood –  soundonsound.com

The Engine ⚡ British splendor – Approved by the Vintage Guitar!

Plugged into a Fender 2×12 combo, The Engine is a tone shaper’s dream with goo-gobs of gain yielding all varieties of upscale British splendor – smooth, compressed, articulate, and with complex overtones. It also works as a clean to dirty boost and yields British superiority regardless of which amp it’s plugged into. The Engine nailed the sound of a wide-open JCM800 (coming through monitors) but was easier to manage. There’s a pronounced midrange that can be dimed, but the combination of Marshall and Rangemaster colors – and all their sonic variables – makes The Engine a guitar soloist’s dream.”

Vibe Machine V-3 listed as one of Best of new Modulation, Pitch and Utility Pedals for the Year 2021!?

I can’t say why it took me so long to get to the Vibe Machine – but it’s absolutely my perfect Uni-Vibe device – in terms of tones, format and function. Having the F-1L footswitch allows me to ramp up and down the speed in the most elegant Leslie style fashion – it also has hidden depths – with multiple smart options available via the Speed dial’s secondary Menu Options – just an incredible device all-round which puts most others to shame. I don’t understand why some people feel the need to go for those enormous hefty sized ‘Vintage’ style units – when they can get their hands on one of these – just superb in every way really!Stefan Karlsson @ guitarpedalx.com

The Vibe Machine V-3 review by Tinkercity Music! ??

Simply put, the new Vibe Machine V-3 is a great sounding Uni-Vibe pedal. It’s familiar yet enables much further exploration of the tones we all love as Vibe enthusiasts. As soon as I plugged the V-3 in I noticed wider boundaries, richer low end and a more available top end. I found that you could nail the vintage Uni-Vibe tones we all love but also get more modern focused tones …

The Vibe Machine V-3 revealed by Premier Guitar! ?

The main difference between V-3 and V-2 is in the modulation EQ. V-2 modulates just a slight part of the main tone (mid-range focused modulation), while V-3 blends in nicely with the main tone and modulates it without changing the EQ. V-3 has a wider modulation and brings more depth.”

The Engine received “Recommended Gear of the Year 2020” badge in the Guitar.com “Best guitar effects pedal of 2020” awards ⚡✨

It hardly seems to matter what kind of amp you run it through – the Engine’s drive circuit pushes out classic Marshall grind, with that familiar tight bass and sweetly rasping edge. The mid-gain sounds are on the money and, yes, it will stretch to JCM800-style heavier tones with no less authority.

24/11/2020

A clever tone-improver that’s easy to use yet brilliantly versatile! ⭐️

With sustain set to maximum, this is not one of those subtle compressors where you find yourself glancing furtively at the LED to check it’s on. Strummed chords have their transients ruthlessly crushed, replaced by seemingly eternal sustain, while single notes are sweetly thickened and get just a hint of a thump to the attack.”

The Engine review by Pedal Of The Day!

“Aiming to cover all the classic overdriven tones you hear on many different amps, The Engine has two very strong and independent sections, designed to work with a variety of musical gear. Unit67 – Pedal Of The Day!

“The DryBell Unit67 EQ Boost Compressor is the perfect combination of three key effects, all working in perfect synergy to give you “that sound” you’ve been searching for. Whether you’re playing loud rock and roll, quiet jazz or big, sustained blues, this pedal makes your guitar and amp absolutely sing. We love it so much that it instantly found its way right onto our demo pedalboard, making everything else around it sound just that much better.”

The Engine earned a “Premier Gear” badge!

The Engine is a combination of good design, a keen ear for vintage sound and dynamics, and considerable thought for how a modern player might use these tones. Both effects are outstanding, but combined they take the amp-in-a-box to a higher level. And let me tell you, this preamp is loud. It might be one of most powerful and robust gain circuits I’ve ever played.”

09/09/2020

What we’re really here for is the crunchy stuff… and it’s extremely good!

“There’s nothing like the roar of an old Plexi head, but they’re devastating loud and hefty beasts – especially once you’ve slapped the obligatory 4×12 cab underneath – so the current trend for ‘Marshall in a box’ pedals makes a lot of sense. And this one, from DryBell is quite possibly the classiest example yet.”

This is probably the best overdrive pedal I’ve tried in many many years! – Bjorn Riis ⚡

“It really feels like I’m playing a real tube amp.  One thing I often miss in Marshall modelled pedals is that they either lack the low end or that the mids are either too low or too high. Right out of the gate I’ll say the Unit67 is a pretty impressive tone sculpting tool. ✨

I do think the Unit67 would make for a fantastic boost pedal for somebody wanting a fat punch through the mix type option. Another great use would be placing it front of a tube amp to add a little more character and “sparkle”, shall we say. I bet putting the Unit67 in front of your OD or muff pedal with a bit of mids and compression would sound awesome.

05/11/2015

The DryBell Vibe Machine V-1 most definitely belongs to the crème de la crème of Uni-Vibe inspired pedals and replicas!

“It’s exquisite both in appearance as well as sound quality, and most importantly, it absolutely nails the classic Uni-Vibe sound. In short, the original has been greatly improved upon and the competition outsmarted, all without compromising the sound.”

The Vibe Machine sounds  convincingly rich and throbby in all the right ways, putting this pedal at the top of the compact vibe heap!

“Despite being very conveniently sized, the Vibe Machine has all the functionality of the original, and then some, with knobs for depth and speed, and little switches on the front for switching between vibrato and chorus modes, and original and bright voicing.”

15/10/2012

Whether you want Gilmour, Hendrix or just a great sounding vibe pedal, the Vibe Machine will deliver!
