Mick Hayes is a bluesy guitarist and soulful singer who spent most of his career playing in and between Nashville, Los Angeles, and Atlanta. He continues to perform both in front of tens of thousands and in intimate settings. His voice takes the forefront with influences from soul, blues, funk, and rock & roll, while his guitar, a constant companion since he was seven years old, is like an extension of his own voice and story.
Mick has shared the stage with countless greats, including Deep Purple, the Doobie Brothers, Peter Frampton, Dickie Betts, Delbert McClinton, Robin Trower, Cheap Trick, Steve Vai, Joe Bonamassa, Najee, Los Lonely Boys, and many others. Notably, Stevie Wonder joined Mick on stage to play harmonica on Mick’s song “Those 3 Words” after hearing him perform.
Since 2003, Mick has released ten albums of original material. His 2020 release, “My Claim To Fame,” recorded at the legendary FAME Studio in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, received glowing reviews.
The DryBell Vibe Machine V-3 has become an essential part of Mick’s sonic arsenal. Here’s what Mick Hayes says about it:
“Finally my Vibe search is over!!! I have spent countless dollars and hours researching boutique vibe pedals that you cannot try in music stores around the world. I found myself disappointed time and time again. On my studio recordings I have used an original Uni-Vibe I have owned for quite some time but it’s never taken outside of those scenarios! When it came to the live shows, I told myself I can live without that specific effect or better yet, avoid those songs. Since hearing the DryBell Vibe Machine I cannot emphasize enough how impressed I am. When I strum a chord, it just keeps pulsing/throbbing and with my semi-hollow guitar it gives me the PERFECT feedback and feel for those dramatic intro’s we guitarists love. That is something other “VIBE” pedals just didn’t do for me. I’m proud to say that my Vibe Machine is now being built on to a custom Vertex Effects system so that I have it at all gigs and for the studio too! Thanks to Zvonch and the team for being such an integral part of my tone.
–MH”
Here’s what Hayes says about the Module 4:
“I’m sincerely excited to be a part of the buzz surrounding DryBell’s most recent pedal release: The Module 4. You know, terms get thrown around all the time in the guitar pedal community like: “Swiss Army knife, all in one and multi-purpose” but this pedal for me as the guitarist, front man and singer is much more than that. It allows me to handle all the facets of performing without playing the pedals too. Once I had a setting I was completely in love with, I put the camera on a stand and made music from start to finish with no interruptions in the creative process. Just a moment inspired by what the pedal gave me that day.”
